I attended a bear photography workshop on Kodiak Island Alaska. The workshop was put on by Andy Long. This is the second trip I have done with Andy. He is well organized and puts on fun, photography rich photo workshops. We stayed at Larsen Bay Lodge in Southwest Kodiak Island. Each day we would fly out to see the bears. We spent the most time at the Frazer Lake Weir. This is an Alaska Fish & Game Weir which has the second largest run of Sockeye Salmon on the island. We would see between 10-12 bears each day. There was a mother with 3 spring ( 1st year ) cubs and another mother with 2 one year old cubs. We spent one day out in the ocean photographing puffins, eagles, sea lions seals and a few Fin Whales.
