Algonquin Park
We visited Ontario's Algonquin Provincial Park for the Memorial weekend. Algonquin Park is Ontario's largest park at 2934 square miles in size. For comparison Yellowstone National Park is 3472 Square miles in size. It is known for its abundant wildlife especially Moose. During the winter the main road Highway 60 is salted to melt the snow. In the spring the Moose come out of the woods to eat the new plant growth along the road and drink the salty water in the pools near the road. So spring is a great time to see the Moose by driving the main Highway 60 which runs ~35 miles through the park. I saw 15-20 Moose during my weekend visit.
